Sonny, You did not know me but I am your second cousin. You knew my mom Marion of course, your cousin, who was pregnant with me when you died. 19 years later, I became a Marine myself and served in the 1990/91 Gulf war. Almost every year since the Gulf War my brother Joe and I have left a Marine Corps Flag and other tributes to you at your grave. The Skocichs have honored your service at the family reunions. They miss you very much. Many of our family members have served our country and I have a great amount of respect for them all. Being a Marine though, I have always felt a special connection with you. I know what it is like to be a Marine and to step onto a battle field. I have looked into your service and have talked to men you served with, both who knew you and who did not. Because people, not names, die on battle fields, I submitted a picture of you that my mom had, to be posted here. In 1997, I left this same picture of you at the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington. I do not know who to give credit to for the picture but I think it is pretty cool. I don't think anyone would object to me using it to honor you in this way. From your cousin and everyone else in the family, Semper Fi
