He was drafted into the Army in early 1968 and went to Vietnam on August 31, 1968 as an armored crewman. He was killed in action on his 21st birthday, April 29, 1969. His wife was living in Alpine, Tex when he was killed in Vietnam. He is remembered on the
Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial
in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice never be forgotten.
17 Dec 2005 Clinton was known as Buzz to his family and friends. He was awarded two Purple Hearts according to his headstone at the South Lawn Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona. Buzz grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico and later in Tucson, Arizona. At the time of his death, his wife Karen was living in Alpine, Texas. Karen and Buzz had known each other in Carlsbad, New Mexico. They married about 10 days before he shipped to Vietnam. Karen is now remarried and lives in Austin, Texas.
From a PBVVM representative, The photos were provided by Karen. The one at the top of the memorial was taken on his wedding day in August 1968. The one below was taken on his 19th birthday, before he entered the Army. He was killed in action on his 21st birthday.

Although I have gone on with my life, he will never be forgotten. The memories may fade, but they will never go away. He was a wonderful person!
