5 Dec 2004 JOHN (SKINNY) SERRANO We became Brothers the day we met at White Hall Street and took that bus to Parris Island to become Marines! The three of us were inseparable until you guys left for Vietnam. I followed later and kept track of you thru Mom Toro, how I missed you! I didn't know our units were on the same ops until after you were gone! I received the news of your death with so much hurt and pain, too late to bring you home as we had promised each other! I cried and was so angry that I wasn't allowed into the field for awhile. There isn't a day that I don't think of you and all the things we had planned to do! A Note from The Virtual Wall Kilo Company, 3/7 Marines, lost 19 men on 28 July 1968 when they were engaged by an enemy force while on a sweep through an open rice paddy.
