My closest friend, I weep now as I type. Such a waste of a good, brave, and wonderful young man. The memories of the days and nights sharing the toil and misery of daily life in the infantry. The memories of the laughing and joking as only teenagers can do in that world with horror around the next bend in the trail. Several of us from those days have found each other again and rejoice in our memories, cry bitter tears and I do so wish that you and others could be with us now.
