A Note from The Virtual Wall

D Company, 3/1st Infantry, lost three men on 19 July 1969 in a fire-fight in Quang Ngai Province:
  • PFC Bernard F. Deutsch, Ionia, IA - arrived 10 June 69
  • PFC James R. Devney, Eau Claire, WI - arrived 28 June 69
  • PFC Robert L. Seekamp, Kendall, WI - arrived 13 June 69
As noted above, all three men were new to 3/1 Infantry - but they are remembered by their comrades-in-arms of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry.

PFC Robert Seekamp is buried in the Pilgrims Home Cemetery, Monroe County, Wisconsin.
