It's been 36 years years since you left us
From his brother, |
This is for Donald. I served with your brother in Vietnam, in fact we spent a couple nights together sharing a tent during the monsoon season. Needless to say neither of us slept as we couldn't keep the water out. I just want to say that he was a good Marine and did us all proud. I still think of him today and what he could have been. I share in your loss in some small way.
From a fellow Marine, |
I served with Larry in Vietnam. I was on the patrol when we lost you. I was with you when you were shot. I called in the Med-evac but it was too late. To your brother Don - I would love to talk to you, and share that last day.
From a fellow Marine, |
Larry, When Don told me about this wall, I knew I had to say something too. But what? I had to say something to my big brother who always had this little sister getting in the way. I had to think of something that reminded me of those days. But it is all in my heart and hard to get out. I tell my children and now my grandchild about their uncle and think about what could have been. I'd give anything to remember your voice and to see that smile again. Someday, I will, but for now I want you to know that I miss you terribly and I love you big brother. I love you very much. Hug Mom and Dad for me. John too!!!
With love always,
from his sister, Nancy Church |
Uncle Larry, I might not know you but you are my uncle and passed away before I could really remember you, all I have to go by is pictures and stories I have heard from my mom and her brothers. I want you to know I am very proud of you for serving our country and doing what you wanted to do. I wish you where still here with us. I would have loved doing things that uncles and nephews do. I am 28 now and am married to a wonderful woman (Karen) - you would love her - and I have two boys Josh (16) and Travis (10). I wish you could be here to meet them - you'd love 'em. Well, I guess that's all I have for now but I want you to know you're in my heart and I love you much.
Your loving nephew, |

Larry, I have thought about you consistently over the years. I tried to contact some of your family members with no luck, until this site. We were friends while you were in the CP and I remember you to this day like if it was only yesterday. You were a great friend and person and according to your family a good brother and son and would have made a great Uncle! Leave a window open in the Mansion in Heaven for all of us!
