On a rainy day a young man of 35 years drives all night and most of the day just to see his dad. As he gets closer to D.C. he feels a lump in his throat and remembers what he has come to say. After he parks his car he walks about 50 yards and as he gets closer he sees his dad and rushes up to hug him but he can't -- all he can do is touch his name. He feels so empty inside as he sits and cries. He wonders what life would be like to have his dad nearby. Life would be great with him around but would he have his wife and 5 kids if his dad had not died in Viet Nam. He wonders if his dad would love them as much as he does.
As he is ready to leave he turns back to the Wall and says:
