James Penny made the landing with Golf 2/7 when it came to Vietnam in July 1965. Of all of Golf's men who would die in Vietnam from then until September 1970 he was the first. If any of his friends or family should see this, please contact me.

A Note from The Virtual WallIf fully manned, a Marine rifle company carried about 130 men on its roster - but in Vietnam most rifle companies were understrength. Golf 2/7 is known to have lost 166 men, 157 to hostile action and 9 to accidents. There may have been others not yet known to The Virtual Wall. |
