I visited this site with Eraste Marceaux's cousin, COL Sidney J. Marceaux and was very moved by the story. I was born in Vietnam and escaped to the United States in 1975. Even though I am now an American citizen, I will always remember what the American soldiers and Marines did for the freedom of my native country...

Recently our family -- Marceaux's -- are reconnecting with each other. Eraste John Marceaux seems to be the magnet that is drawing us together. It's amazing how someone who died a long time ago, yet his spirit is still very much alive. As we grow older, Eraste remains young with his unforgetable smile. It's like he is reaching out from this black marble wall and putting his arms around us. When we look at his name, chiseled into the black granite between Douglas M. Kelly and Anthony C. Pino, we see a reflection of ourselves. Who knows where all of this will lead the Marceaux Family? However, we must take the risk and let his spirit breathe new life into what was slowly becoming a dying family. Merci beaucoupe Eraste!
