Michael Mulvaney was the sharpest MP I ever met. He was impeccable and spotless at all times. He was selected to be assigned to the Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the end of his tour. Our entire unit took pride in his selection.

He was respected by all and served as a model MP. He is missed. Michael served as driver to Lt. Chester (Chet) Lee. He was killed responding to the bombing of the Viktoria Hotel in Saigon.

Rest in Peace

From a friend,
Herbert Frank

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Charlie Company, 716th Military Police Battalion, lost three men on 01 April 1966:
  • CPT Chester L. Lee, Poyen, AR (explosive device)
  • SP4 Michael T. Mulvaney, The Philippines (gunshot wounds)
  • PFC Patrick J. Brems, Mahwah, NJ (fragmentation wounds)
The three men were killed in connection with the bombing of the Viktoria Hotel in Saigon, which was used as a berthing space by US forces. Amongst other information to be found on Captain Lee's memorial, Roy de Motte recalls that SP4 Mulvaney was Captain Lee's driver, while PFC Brems probably was the guard at the Viktoria Hotel.
