I did not know Raymond on a personal basis, but I knew him. His younger brother and I went to school together and he is still my friend. Raymond became engaged to my grade school, high school girlfriend. Last time I saw him was when he and I were in a wedding for my ex-girlfriend's sister. He and I were in the wedding party. He was with my ex-girlfriend and I was with another girl. Raymond was a good man. He was better for my ex than I was. I arrived in Vietnam the same month he was killed. He had just got there. He is buried only a few blocks from where I live. I still remember the letter from my mom asking me if I had heard that Raymond was killed. I was in Vietnam then. That realy sucked. I thought of my ex-girlfriend and what she must be going through, so I wrote to her. Ended up getting married to her. Though Raymond and I were never friends - he was older and hung with a different crowd - I knew him. He was a Marine, therefore he is my brother. I wish he could have come back to K.C. He is missed. His brother and I still hang together from time to time and talk about him and drink a Bud for him. Semper Fi ... Jesse
