The database page for John Emerson Milender
As a high school senior, I learned what it was like for war to touch the home community. John Milender came from a small community where true friends were abundant. I never knew John but less than two years after his death I got to know the man he was by serving with true brave soldiers of the same caliber. Men that fought bravely and died gallantly for a cause that is still prevalent today. To me, John Milender and all the men that preceeded him in death for the cause of freedom are truly fallen heros.
From an admirer and Vietnam Vet, |
John Milender was/is my grandfather. I never knew him, but from the stories I've heard he was a good brave man. Every day I look at the medals that are his and I think about how he served our country. I also look at the flag that was draped over his casket and I think about how he died protecting me and you. I'm so glad that I'm named after my dad and he was named after my grandpaw...
