Sergeant Terrance R. Mesenburg, Huron, Ohio, lost his life after being wounded in June 1969 in the Republic of Vietnam. A graduate of Huron High School in 1967, he was 20 years old when he died.

A member of Company D, 3rd Battalion, 39h Infantry, Ninth Infantry Division, Terry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mesenburg, were presented two Bronze Star Medals for him for military operations against hostile forces. He also received the Purple Heart for his injuries.

He was on duty during a conflict with the enemy in the Mekong Delta when a man from his unit ran out and was wounded. Terry ran out to help him and was wounded by gunshot.

Terry lay in the hospital seven days before he died on June 6, 1969, during Memorial Day week.
