A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 1st Battalion, 1st Marines Command Chronology for August 1967 contains the following entry:
"29 August - An estimated 40 pound mine was detonated at BT 097580 by the Regimental Chaplain's vehicle resulting in the death of the driver, one Red Cross worker, and wounding of the Chaplain."
