It's been almost forty years that you have been gone, Ron, and I think most of your family thinks of you every day. Your two children have grown up to be such wonderful adults, you would be so proud which I am sure you are smiling from up above. You are also a Grandpa - she is a precious little girl. I just felt the need to tell you that your family is well.

It has been 39 years, and the love is still with me, Ron you have been missed so much, from me and your little family, which have grown, you now have a granddaughter, Stevie Lynn, and she is so cute, bright, and I know you are looking down on her, and keeping her safe, the same way I believe you have taken care of me, Jennifer and Jim. Your children have grown into such wonderful adults, and have pursued their careers, I know you are very proud of them. I am fine, and someday I know we will meet again and I look forward to that day. Thank you for your service to our country, and sacrificing your life. I will always love you.

27 Jun 2007 Dear Ron, Can you believe Jenna and I are here in Vietnam, we have just left Hanoi and we are experiencing the weather, people, and terrain that you did so many years ago. We will be going to Pleiku and on to Ple Me. This has been a very exciting trip and a much needed one. I just came down from our room, read some of the letters you wrote to me in Oct, Sept and August 1965, and today I am experiencing the same weather you described in your letters ... it is now raining, and it seems to be cooling things off, very muggy here and hot... We both love you a lot and I thank God we have had this experience...

A Note from The Virtual WallThe Special Forces Camp at Plei Me had been attacked by an estimated enemy regiment during the night of 19/20 August. Shortly after daybreak, it appeared that the enemy had broken contact and two medevac helicopters from the 498th Med Company with two armed escorts from the 119th Assault Helicopter Company were launched to recover the dead and wounded. During the mission the aircraft received heavy automatic weapons fire up to .51 caliber size. One of the escort gunships was hit and crashed in flames just outside the southwest perimeter of the camp.The four men who died when their UH-1B Huey (hull number 64-00135) was shot down were
