It has taken me all these years to be able to write these words about my wonderful brother. He was so very young when he was taken from us. He had so much more to give to the people he would have touched. The worst part of this tragedy is that this young man did not have to go to Vietnam, he was the only son of an only son, but he felt that it was his duty as an American to serve his country, so he volunteered to go to Vietnam. He had only been in-country for 4 months when he was killed, not as a result of enemy fire but because of someone's carelessness. I just want my brother and all the young men and women to be remembered by this county and for the people of this country to find in their heart a place to help all the homeless disabled veterans, especially those from the Vietnam War.

May God forever bless and keep you in His care. The last time I saw or talked with my brother Clarence Dardar was in August of 1967. He came by to tell me that he was going to Vietnam, and also to see his first nephew, born July 31, 1967.

May they always be remembered, and for those who left families behind, be blessed in the Lord.

The Dardar-Young Family.
