I never knew CPL Johnson, but he was from the same county in Florida that I am from, and his name is on a memorial in Walton County Florida, that I was allowed the most honorable privilege of unveiling about 16 years ago. I talked with his 82 year old mother last night, and told her about the VIRTUAL WALL. This lady cried as if her son had died yesterday. She was so pleased that someone was doing this for her son. CPL Johnson was killed just 3 weeks after going to Vietnam. His young widow committed suicide exactly six months to the day of his death. CPL Johnson's mother was able to see her son when he was sent home. She said he was shot in the neck. She has told me that I can borrow a picture to put on this memorial, if I promise to bring it back. I will go soon to visit her, and will send a copy of this most precious picture, to put on his memorial. Mrs. Johnson said that everybody called him BUDDY.
So now Corporal Johnson, THANK YOU FOR THE SACRIFICES THAT YOU MADE.

I was looking for a friend, when I found you. You both have the last name of Johnson, but it doesn't stop there you both served your Country in a land far away. You both were Marines, and served with Mike Company 3/7. You, Buddy, gave your life in 1966, and my friend Larry in 1968. I was looking for a friend and found Buddy. You served your God, your Country, and your Corps. Well done, Brother, and Semper Fi.
