Don't Cry Anymore
by Kathi Toups

Don't cry any more tears for me,
I am at peace, I'm finally free.
Like the eagle in the sky,
I am soaring, so please don't cry.

I know you love me, I love you too,
But my time was over, was finally through.
I have ascended to a better place,
Which is not confined by time or space.

To those that loved me, I did not fall,
I only succumbed to a higher call.
Do not mourn me, I am with you still, I'll be with you
always, from dawn -- until.

This is for a man that was taken away from all who loved him, as so many men and women were taken away from their families. We love you, our brother, as we did then. We still hold you in our hearts and minds. There is never a day that goes by that you are not thought of. You are always with us.

He was the brother of Sandra Waites Honert, Glenda Waites Crowe, Donna Howell Alexander, and Alicia Howell Simmons, husband of Pom Sun Yang Ann Johnson, father of Annie Johnson, and son of Myra Avalane Johnson Howell and William Glen Waites. We know you walk with angels, for you were one here on earth. I know that when I am finally with you I will know your face, and when you speak I will know your voice, even though it has been thirty years. You are still clear in my mind, as if it was yesterday that you were here. So to you, our brother, we never said goodbye, for you were far away on the day that you died. I hope that you were not alone for that I could not stand, to know that you lay dying with no one holding your hand. But In my heart I know that is just what happened. Well now I say my goodbyes and will say my hellos again on the day that I die.

I would love to hear from anybody who served with my brother.

To my best friend

I surely miss you every day of my life and I always will. No one could have a better friend down here. I hope someday to shake your hand and give you a great big hug. Rest in peace, my friend, for you were and are the best God made.

From your friend,
