The database page for Eric Wayne Johnson

31 Mar 2008

Eric was only 18, an only child and my husband's best friend - Charles Baden, Jr. They joined the service on the buddy plan from Englewood High School.

They were in a "no fight" zone when my husband saw Eric blown apart by a mine ... he never got over it. My husband wrote a song about Eric that I will add later.

Now both are gone, buried in the same cemetery, and take care of both of them. My grandson is named after both of them - Charles Eric Baden. He is very proud of his grandfather and his "Uncle" Eric.

Eric was truly devoted, fun, and a sweetheart of a guy.

Always with love
Patricia
