David, that was a sad day in January 1968. I can still remember the "GOOD TIMES" we all had when we came back in from the field. We would sit around and sing and talk about our plans when we got home. You had a way of keeping everybodies' spirits up. I never did see you down in spirit and I believe that is what kept everyone going. David, it's been over 30 years since that day in January and I still think about you and your family.
I KNOW YOU'RE IN HEAVEN
Your friend, |
David: I too think of you so very much. Of course there were so many others, who like you, gave so much also. Some of them I can remember, and some I can't. But you were a dear friend to say the least. I think often of how we met. Two southern boys in the army away from home and jumping out of airplanes. We became close friends and talked often about "Home Stuff"; i.e. grits for breakfast, hunting, good dogs, bad dogs, old dogs. I think it helped a lot to have someone there at that time who I could connect with. Thank so much. I shall never forget you.
