The database page for Billy Ronald Elliott
The guys who fought in the Ia Drang Valley in 1965 were some of the bravest men in history. That was such a "pioneering" experience for everyone. There wasn't an American in that battle who knew what he would be facing once he got on the ground that first day in November. Billy Elliott is just another casualty on a wall to some people, but he is a fellow Oklahoman who participated in that battle that was a turning point in the future of many people. In true Oklahoma fashion he stood proud and did not fail to support the men he was fighting with. I just wanted to give him the proper recognition he deserves alongside his brothers-in-arms from that first battle that committed so many men's lives and fate to the Vietnam war. |
