Rick, |
Memories of my childhood friend, Rick Clark, were rekindled after watching the movie "We Were Soldiers" last summer. I last saw Rick during the summer of 1965 when he was home on leave before leaving for Viet Nam. Little did I know I would never see him again. He was a good guy that I have never forgotten.

Rick, |
I met Rick in third grade, after his family moved to Kankakee. From that point on we were friends. After graduating from Kankakee High School, in 1963, I went on to college and Rick eventually joined the Army. I will always remember the great times we had growing up together and will forever miss him.
From a friend, |
Rick, Thanks for answering the call to serve the cause of freedom, even the freedom of another people. Your sacrifice is an eternal one and is remembered by your friends, comrades, fellow patriots, and our Heavenly Father who has granted to all His children the gift of liberty. It is man who takes it away. I look forward to seeing you on the other side and talking about the good old times at Kankakee High and the Class of 63.
