Larry, as I remember him, was a natural born leader. I served with the Florida National Guard, Palmetto, Florida, and Larry I believe was Executive Officer in the Bradenton, Florida, company. Our two companies were in the same infantry battalion and were frequently together in training exercises. Larry felt that he could make a difference by voluntarily serving in Vietnam. I'm sure that he did during his brief tour there before losing his life. There were several other officers and enlisted men from our company who voluntarily signed up to serve in Vietnam but Larry unfortunately was the only man who did not come home alive. Larry, your fellow Florida National Guardsmen salute and honor you.
