The database page for James Wallace Rudd
James was a close friend, we trained together in Fort Hood Texas and went to Nam, with our units, at the same time. We were in different companies, so I wasn't nearby when he died. To his family and friends, he was a great man, who always had a smile on his face, no matter how bad it got. His friendship with me spanned the racism which was rampart in the 60's, Black or White didn't matter to him or me. He was one of the first, of many, of our unit that died over there and his death probably impacted me more than any of the others. To this day, whenever I travel to Washington DC, I visit him at the Wall and break down and cry for him.
