25 Nov 2003 Big Mike ... He welcomed me into the Platoon and was my mentor. For a little over a month he was my track commander. Life was not the same without him. He was the point man on a patrol that went by ropes across the river into the Iron Triangle. He was shot down in an ambush by small arms fire.
