Charles Lewis King was living in the small farming community of Prosper, Texas, when he joined the Army in 1958 at eighteen years of age. He honorably served his country for ten years. Charles arrived in Vietnam on August 24, 1968 and was killed almost ten months later on June 4, 1969, in Long An Province. He was one of nineteen young men from my home of Collin County, Texas, who did not come home from the war, and will always be remembered as a hero to us all.
