My family has many fond memories of our son and brother, Captain William Boyd Graves. He was the perfect "big brother" to his three sisters, and a wonderful, caring son. Two of our fondest memories are when his pet sparrow hawk landed on the tall peaked roof of our neighbor's house and he decided to scare it off with his sling shot. Unfortunately his aim was perfect and he accidentally hit and killed the hawk. He was devastated. As a teenager his passion was a purple hot rod. Anytime he would give us a ride he would pretend it was an airplane and, while starting the engines, would go through all the motions of a pilot getting ready to take off. Our family name for him was "Bubby," and during High School his nickname was "Pogo." We still can see his friends tatooing "Pogo" on his arm in our living room! In addition to his parents and sisters, he left behind a wife and three children.
