Memorial Day 2004

His weapon was always immaculate. His area the same. He kept his canteens of water buried in the sand to keep them cool.

Always cheerful, and hardworking, he was an asset in all situations. Fearless on point, alert on night listening posts or when on guard in his foxhole.

He was a good Marine, and we lost him in an ambush on a patrol while defending a bridge on Route 9. It was needed to keep the supplies flowing to the embattled Marines at Khe Sanh.

I am proud to have known him.
