My name is Tom. Back in 1966 when I lived in Peabody and went to Peabody High I had bought a motorcycle. I met Louis up at the Ward 2 playground and he stayed with me until I learned to get the courage to ride the bike back to my house. I will never forget him for having the patience that he had with me in the process of learning how to ride the bike. I will never forget him and to his family I am sorry for his loss. I live in Baltimore, Maryland, now, due to being stationed here back in 1969. The Vietnam War will always have an affect on me all my life. I will never forget. Sincerely, Tom
From a friend, 05 Dec 2007 Hi, my name is Tom. Back in 2005 I had written how Louis had a positive effect on my life. Two years later my family and I now live in South Carolina. At the age of 59 I would be hesitant in buying a motorcycle but if I did I would always remember Louis and I up at that playground over 40 years ago, giving me the courage to ride it home. This is a wonderful website and it gives us a chance to look back and to thank people like Louis who sacrificed for his country like our forces do in Iraq at this moment. No matter where I live, Louis will never be forgotten.
Sincerely, Tom

Louis was a great guy ... lots of fun to be with. The last time I saw him was at our Prom, when he and a couple of other guys took me and a couple of other girls to a "haunted" house after the Prom. The guys had a great time, jumping out at us and scaring us. That was Louis, always spontaneous and fun-loving. I don't think I ever saw him when he wasn't smiling or laughing. He was in Shop classes, but he was in some of my regular classes. Miss Luz was always telling him and John Savageau (also lost to us because of this war) to "keep quiet", but I know for a fact that she adored Louis. I remember a very sweet, very happy guy who had a ton of friends and a ton of personality. I really cared a lot about Louis, as did all his friends at PHS. He will never be forgotten and will always be missed. xoxoxoxoxo God Bless You, Louis. We lost you too soon, but we will join you someday, and see you smile again.

To the family of Louis Girolimon: My name is Steve Mitchell. I was a Corporal with 1st Battalion 27th Marines and a friend of Louis's. We served together as radio operators. Nearly forty years ago I was a passenger in the jeep Louis was driving when the accident occurred. A very sad day indeed. I was lucky and only sustained some bumps and bruises. My heart goes out to Louis's family. I'm so very sorry for your loss. He was a fine young man and I shall never forget him.
