CPT Gereau was killed making an emergency ammunition resupply mission to some of the battalion's companies which were in heavy contact with a VC Heavy Weapons battalion and were running out of ammunition. The helicopter he was riding in was shot down while making the deliveries. This was the same battle in which 2Lt Robert Hibbs of the battalion won the Medal of Honor. |
