Wilfredo,
I am Carlos Domingo DeLuna. I am the Sergeant E-5 that pulled your body to safety. Of course, you were already dead, but I could not allow your body to be left behind. We took several casualties that day. The firefight was intense. I want you to know that I think of you, dream of you often. I can still see that handsome young face of yours as I called the medivac helicopter to transport the bodies to the rear. I know that your family must miss you very much. I pray that someone in your family will see that I was with you that final day. I hope that they know that I cried for them on that day. I am here if they need to speak with me and I know that we will meet again some day. Your friend..... Carlos DeLuna (Kahuna, Jr.) |
