Jack Fiffe was our Cousin, a very strong and athletic young man of great character. In a very difficult time in our country, Jack wanted to help protect his country and family by becoming a Marine. I can still remember the talk Jack and I had as we walked over a bridge, the day before he left for basic training. Jack became that Marine, a proud member of Alpha Co, 1st Bn, 27th Marines, who landed in Vietnam on Feb 8th, 1968. A bunch of 18 year olds, highly trained by veterans of previous tours in Vietnam. A bunch of "Brothers" willing to give the ultimate sacrifice for family and Country. Jack made that sacrifice on May 8th, 1968. Forty years ago and Jack is still a part of our Family. "Thanks, Jack" for our freedom. We love you and miss you, God Bless. "Semper Fi" cousin "Rest in Peace Marine"
