You were one of the best friends that anyone could ever have. You told me that you didn't think you would make it back from the Nam because you thought it was time that someone from Bernice died over there. I was in the Veterans Hospital in Shreveport and had a visitor, Joe Jackson, and I got to talking about you and told Joe you would be coming home in a few days. He later told me that he just didn't have the heart to tell me that you had died. My wife told me the next day and I was so totally torn inside for it just did not seem possible. I still think of you often even though it has been thirty-six years now. We had so much danged fun when we were just growing boys. Lord knows I will never forget you.
