A Note from The Virtual WallOn 25 Jan 1966 elements of the 1st Cavalry Division were redeploying in preparation for Operation Masher, a division-size sweep mission. A C-123B Provider (tail number 54-0702) transporting troops from An Khe to Bong Sen went down in Binh Dinh Province. The 4 aircrewmen and 42 troopers from 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, were killed in the accident. |
