The database page for Guy Woods Doherty
Guy was the first of our friends to make the commitment to join the service. I remember his girlfriend was so sad when he left. I didn't know Guy well but he was always on our minds after he left. We didn't have much time to think about him because just six months after getting to Vietnam, Guy was dead. It was a war that took many young men away from friends and family who never returned. To everyone who loved him he will always remain the young man with his long hair and engaging smile. We never said good-bye but your friends have had nearly 40 years to think of what we would have said if we had only known you'd have a date with eternity.
