The database page for Fred Jacobo Daniel

Freddy died in the A Shau Valley after serving 10 months in the field.
It happened at night when his best friend mistook him for the enemy.
My hope is that his friend understands it was not his fault.
I know that Freddy understands and would want the same.

Over 500 G.I.s died of friendly fire that year.
Friendly fire is an unspeakably horrid consequence of war.
The only thing more horrible is to not appreciate their sacrifices.
The only thing more unspeakable is to forget their names.

The point-of-contact for this memorial is
a friend and Brother in Arms,
