A Note from The Virtual Wall

Alpha 1/7 Marines lost three men on 24 Apr 1970. Two of them, Pfc Steven Cronrath and Pfc Paul Guelig, are known to have been killed during a pacification patrol in the Que Son Valley. The third, Cpl Jeffrey Hoagland, is coded as "died of wounds"; The Virtual Wall cannot determine if Cpl Hoagland was wounded and died on the same day.

The 1/7 Command Chronology notes that one of the two men killed was shot while trying to recover the other one but does not specify if Guelig was trying to rescue Cronrath or vice versa.
