David, it is Memorial Day weekend 2005, and I just wanted to say thank you for your service to our country. We came "in country" on the same day in 1969. Our friendship was cut short by "friendly fire", whatever that is. Doc Sanders and I thought you were going to make it, but your wounds were too severe. You were a "brother in arms" and I was proud to have served with you. Rest in peace, my friend.

David, I just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you on this Memorial Day weekend. I got a rubbing of your name off of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. I couldn't stop shaking. I hope you've found some peace after the hell we went through. Your friend, Bob.
