A Note from The Virtual WallOperation DECKHOUSE I put Battalion Landing Team 3/5 ashore south of Song Cau, Phu Yen Province, to conduct search and destroy operations along the Highway QL-1 corridor. While the Marines did not establish major contact with enemy forces there were a number of platoon and squad engagements between the initial landings 18 June and termination on 28 June. Four Marines were killed during those 10 days:
