James A. Cabral, also known as "Blinky" or "Jamesy", was a great kid and a loyal friend!! We were friends since we were babies! his favorite song was "People" by Barbara Streisand and his passion was baseball.

My fondest memories are of skinny dipping in Fresh Pond and the fat cop chasing us across the Cambridge golf course with our clothes under our arms and shocking the lady golfers!

Also the day we hooked school and went down to Revere Beach riding the roller coaster, stopping into Murphy's fried clam joint, and catching our homeroom teacher hooking school and having a beer!! What a wonderful day!!

I can shut my eyes and see him running wind sprints and making that great catch in right field - a great catch because Blinky's glasses were steamed with sweat and he caught a line drive "no looker" over his shoulder to save the game!!

Yes, Jamesy!! I remember you!! All of your friends remember you!! You were gone too soon! I am writing with tears in my eyes - and memories in my heart. Thinking of you always-

Your friend,
Bob Farrell
