I remember as a junior in high school when some one had come to class and told us about Calvin. Viet Nam seemed so remote and it was hard to believe that some one so close to us was gone. I know several people who were injured in the war, but Calvin is the only one I remember as losing his life. I went to the Wall last year and found his name. His name will always be in my heart.

Cal and I went through all the USMC training together. He was a real joker, a lot of fun to be with. He always said "I'm the seventh son of a seventh son. My daddy was a pistol, I'm a son of a gun." We separated when we got to the Nam. When I heard he was killed in action I was devastated and did not believe it for years. I Love You, Brother, Rest in Peace.
