Robert and I were on patrol,
He took all the force from the blast of a Vietcong home made mine.
To anyone who might have known Robert, relative or friend,
From a friend and fellow Marine, |
I met Robert Burciaga in late June 1964 at MCRD San Diego. We were in the same training platoon (358). While in Receiving Barracks we got into a little tussell and he almost knocked me through a window. I learned that he had fought Golden Gloves boxing. He didn't hold a grudge and we got along after that. I was sorry to see his name on the wall. SEMPER FI
