THE REMEMBRANCETo my brother James, who is sadly missed. You were a brave young man who, like many others, did what was asked of you.
THE ACTION AT FSB GOLDOn 21 March 1967, at Soui Tre in Tay Ninh Province, 400 men of the 3/22nd and the 2/77th Arty stood off an attack by a reinforced regiment of North Vietnamese regulars until relieved by elements of the 2/22nd and the 2/34th Armor. The North Vietnamese lost the battle and I lost my brother. I wish to remember him and the 32 other Americans who lost their lives in the battle at Fire Support Base GOLD:

This is a beautiful memorial. My dad fought in this attack but was one of the fortunate ones. Of the 32 men who lost their lives, my dad was good friends with five. I thank God that he came home and I mourn for those who did not. My dad was honored with the Bronze Star V device for heroism in ground combat. In my opinion, every man and woman who serve in our Armed Forces are heroes. God Bless.

After all of these years, you have not been forgotten. You were a true friend and I think of you often.
