"Sloop" John B. and I went through Avionics School at Naval Air Station Millington, Tennessee, in 1966-'67. We then were stationed at MCAS New River until getting orders to Vietnam in the Fall of '67. J.B. was to serve with HML-167 and I was with H&MS-16 at the Marble Mountain Air Facility. We were devastated when we learned he was shot down. John was a great guy and friend. I'm 60 now, J.B. ... Still crazy after all these years! Stay young forever for all of us, J.B.!!
